With that being said, it is entirely possible to proceed to the casino without every having become good at parrying, and then King Dice himself becomes incredibly frustrating and one wonders why people keep calling his fight "easy." But once you've figured the timing out (if it were really the "perfect time", you wouldn't have been hit, trust me) and have become good at parrying, you'll see that he is indeed "easy" to beat (at least by "Cuphead" standards). The final phase against Baroness von Bon Bon as well as Captain Brineybeard are what comes closest, but it is completely optional to respond to the rolling candy or the laser beam with a parry streak. Sure, there are the mausoleums, but you don't take damage from a failed parry there and neither do you have to parry multiple ghosts in a row all the time. The other being the whole boss bonanza before so that I had rather little opportunity to practice and get familiar with the fight.Īnd it doesn't really help that at no point earlier in the game, you need to have impeccable parrying skills to survive, let alone win. That's the main reason why it took me ten days to beat King Dice for the first time.
